Lake Maschsee

Lake Maschsee is an artificial Lake in the heart of Hannover and very well known for sportive outdoor activities and as a recreation area. The nearby football stadium "HDI-Arena", the Academy of Sports and other athletic facilities emphasize that you are also in its sporting heart.

As the largest body of water within the capital of Lower-Saxony Lake Maschsee offers practising a variety of different water sports on its 78 hectares which are embraced by inhabitants as well as by tourists. But especially rowing on the lake has a long tradition so there have been several acknowledged  national rowing events between 1997 and 2014 like German Universities Championships or the Federal Rowing League.

For the European Universities Championships Rowing in 2015 Lake Maschsee hosts another prestigious event. Therefore we like to introduce the northern shore of the lake as our EUC Rowing Campus. It is conceived as the meeting point of altogether from athletes and officials to sponsors and spectators. Participating athletes will be able to find there the Team Information Centre and lounges to eat and relax.

The tournament course features the Albano system over 2000 metres from the south side of the lake to the northern shore.

The lake's central location in the city of Hannover gives us the advantage of making it possible that most of the accommodation facilities are very close and within walking distance to the lake.
