About Hannover

With about 520.000 inhabitants and since 1946 the state capital of Lower Saxony Hannover is located at the southern end of the northern German lowlands. The area of 650 hectares city forest Eilenriede, 50 hectares Herrenhäuser Gardens, numerous parks, 20 kilometers of alluvial meadows of Ihme and Leine rivers as well as the Lake Maschsee award Hannover with the grade garden city. Hannover is known as host of the world exhibition EXPO 2000 and many international exhibitions such as the largest annual technology fair Hannover-Messe and CeBIT. Volkswagen utility vehicles, the Continental AG, the travel giant TUI and the insurer Talanx are the largest employers maintaining their headquarters in town.
